"Lisa! Come here!" Bellowed Lisa's mother, Mrs Tan, in a fit of rage. This left Lisa puzzled as she did not know why her Mother was so angry with her now but she knew that was another trick of her brother, Marcus.
Lisa ran towards the source of notice and soon ended up in the living room and was invited by a face which was as red as a tomato. Lisa was at a loss of words upon seeing her mother's face. Then her mother quickly grabbed her mobile phone from her handbag and showed the crack on her mobile phone to Lisa. This left Lisa shocked and dumbfounded. "But mum I did not do it. I am sure it is Marcus!" uttered Lisa. Upon hearing her Daughter not accept her fault and push the blame onto Marcus, Mrs Tan became more furious and yelled," Just admit your fault. Do not push the blame onto Marcus. Marcus is a big boy he would never do this. Since you pushed the blame and lied, I am going to give you twice the punishment. No television or computer for a month.! Lisa felt really upset and angry. She was very furious she had been getting punished for all her brother's faults. Marcus did these on purpose as he knew his Mother would not know that it was him and would mistake it as Lisa and punish her.Knowing all this Lisa decide to stand up for herself . However, she knew it was very difficult to do so.
Since it was the march holidays, Lisa and her Brother were at home while Mrs Tan had gone for work. Marcus was in his room while Lisa was doing her homework in her room. At that time, Lisa felt thirsty. So she walked towards the kitchen. While doing so, she heard some noise from her mother's bedroom. Lisa knew something was amiss as she knew that her Mother was not at home as she left to the Supermarket which was a stone's throw from her house. So Lisa peeped into the room as the door was slightly ajar. To her shock, she saw her Brother using Mrs tan's phone, as Mrs Tan had probably forgot to bring her phone along to the supermarket. Lisa felt a tinge of happiness replacing her anger. To use this act of her brother's as evidence, she whipped her phone from her pocket and took a few snaps of her Brother using Mrs Tan's phone. In a few minutes, she heard the doorbell and rushed to open the door while her Brother ran into his room. Lisaquickly opened the door and showed the snaps to her Mother. Mrs Tan stood rooted to the ground with her mouth wide open in shock. " Marcus!" yelled Mrs Tan. Marcus came out shivering in fright. Realising what happened upon seeing the photos in Lisa' s phone, ,Marcus apologised to his mum and admitted that he was at fault and not Lisa. Having said this to his mum, Marcus apologised to Lisa and promised such incidents would not happen again. When Mrs Tan heard this, " Marcus, next time admit your mistake immediately. Lisa dear, I am extremely sorry for punished you for faults you had not done. Next time I will get suuficient evidence before I take action. I feel very guilty as I have punished you for the problems caused by Marcus and not you. As a sign of apology, I will buy you the art kit which you had been asking for. Please forgive me Lisa. As for you, Marcus, you will be grounded for 10 whole weeks.Next time, Marcus just admit your mistakes." " yes mum." Replied Marcus. Lisa felt happy and proud that she stood up for herself.
